Garbh Sanskar is a scientific process of giving birth to the best kind of progeny. It comes from the 5000 year old science of Ayurveda, which gives out elaborate guidelines on pregnancy, delivery and postpartum.
‘Garbh’ means womb and ‘sanskar’ means imprints. The imprints or enlightenment imparted to a baby inside the womb Garbh Sanskar.
Sanskars can also be understood as ‘transformation’. The process of doing a sanskar is used to bring about a change in the property of something. For example – When culture is added to warm milk, it turns into curd. It was a ‘sanskar’ performed on the milk that brought about a change in its properties.
Similarly, when the child is in the womb, it is transformed through the ‘education’ it receives in the womb.
Garbh Sanskar provides month wise guidelines to the expectant mother for her food habits, the kind of literature to be read, the kind of music to be listened to, various activities to engage in for the foetus’ ‘self & brain’ development, prioritizes the mother’s mental and emotional well being, promotes bonding between the parents, self care rituals for the mother and the overall lifestyle the mother should follow before, during and after her pregnancy.
